fellowship events

CoDA events and meetings are held throughout the year to allow members to grow in their recovery. Many of us struggle with allowing ourselves to have fun and may not even know what we like to do. Many of us enter the program feeling loneliness and long for a sense of belonging. As we grow in recovery, we may shed old, dysfunctional relationships and begin to seek new, healthier ones.

Coming together outside of our regular meetings allows us to practice what we are learning in the program. We practice using our tools with other recovering people. We take time to get to know one another and support each other on our journey. We reach out and perform service together and practice learning to set and hold our boundaries. We practice letting go of outcomes and the desire to control other people. We let others take care of themselves. We share our stories and ideas. We laugh together. We show up, show interest, and find a new freedom to discover our authentic selves.

Our events fall into three main categories: Intergroup meetings, workshop/retreat experiences, and fun social events.
–>Intergroup meetings are held bi-monthly to support existing meetings, handle the business of CoDA, and provide opportunities for fellowship.
–>MinnCoDA holds a fall retreat and spring mini-conference regularly. Members can register to attend and are encouraged to offer service as well. Additional workshops may occur periodically as well such as a CoDA 4th Step workshop. People wishing to give a workshop can reach out to us on our contact us page.
–>Fun events such as game nights, group outings, or picnics may be planned by our Fun Committee or by local groups or individuals. If you or your group has a fun event planned that you’d like posted on our website, go to our contact us page and let us know about it!
